Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Our program recently converted to another website platform that is not Ramp Interactive (i.e. SportsEngine, TeamSnap). Can Ramp integrate with our platform?

No. If a Town chooses to utilize another technology platform for the current season it will be that Town's responsibility to provide detailed registration data, contact information, and roster information and other relevant team data to the SCLA in a timely manner on January 1st and January 31st.

Will towns continue to operate their own local website?

While the SCLA Ramp platform is quite robust, there may be reasons to have a separate website to manage non-SCLA activities. Each town that participates in the SCLA centralized registration platform will be provided with a Ramp Admin platform where their registration module sits. Once their registration module is completed, they will use a registration link to post to their local non-Ramp website.

How soon will the central registration be available?

Integration can be available by Sept 1. Brian LaRue will work with each town to schedule customization and launch of their registration. Ideally, we will require two week’s notice prior to launch. The set-up takes about one hour after Brian has the requirements (i.e., formatting each registration field, registration fees, early bird discounts, sibling discounts, etc.). For example, if your town would like to open registration by 10/1, then the process will need to start by 9/1

Can towns utilize teamsnap for team operations?

Yes, each town's teamsnap club league platform will create teams and those parents can then operate it for their teams, setting up practices, etc.

Will all towns participate in the centralized registration platform?

Currently, we are aware that Ventura will not be able to participate due its sponsor by City of Ventura program. The City handles registration and charges a fee. SCLA is eager to see 100% participation as much as reasonable possible for this season, and complete full integration prior to the beginning o of the 2021 season.

Are annual league fees changing?

The SCLA Budget will be presented to the Board by 9/15/2019. The budget provides the basis for team fees by division. We do not anticipate that league fees will increase significantly, if at all, from prior years. The one exception may be normalizing girls and boys fees.

Will towns have access to their own registration?

Each town will have separate access to their own registration module to monitor registration data, payments, etc.

Is all information private to each town?

Yes, Each town will have it's own registration module (backend) with admin access to have real time access to their data and reporting. Each town will establish its own banking gateway. Brian LaRue will be the only one who will have admin access to each towns module to setup, provide support and integration with the league platform. While Brian will help setup the banking connection, he will not be able to access to the town's bank.

Will towns continue to set their own registration fees?

For this season, towns will continue to make their own decisions on setting their player registration fees.

How will our town receive paid registration fees?

Registration fees are setup in their own registration module and when parents make a payment, those fees are directly deposited to each town’s respective bank.

Can each town add supplemental questions for their registration such as US lacrosse membership?

Yes, TeamSnap is flexible and allows for a variety of registration requirements unique for each town. For example, TeamSnap has a “USL Membership” verification module to make it mandatory for players to have a USL membership before they can complete their registration. This can be turned “on” or “off” in each town's registration module per the town's current policy.

Can registrations be limited by roster size by team (e.g. can registration be capped at 16 players per team)?

Yes

How will registration for non-SCLA events (clinics, fall ball, etc.) work?

Current implementation of the central registration platform is limited to SCLA regular season. Local town specific non-SCLA events will still be handled at the local level.

We rent equipment as part of our registration. Can the registration process accommodate this?

Yes

Can the registration process accommodate custom forms (e.g., our current waivers indemnify not only league and teams, but also entities such as LA city, parks dept. and practice facilities)?

Yes, we will help you set this up within your own registration module.

Can the new system accommodate town merchandise sales?

Yes, there is an ability to add merchandise sales during registration process.

What about custom domain names? Can we host our (new) TeamSnap team page on our custom URL?

Yes, this would require some configuration on your hosting site, but our recommendation is to embed a link to your program's website that will re-direct families to you registration module. If you like the Teamsnap web platform to replace your current platform, it would cost $500 per year.
